August, 2010 A.T.B (ATB = Imperial Calender in the series) = The Holy Empire of Britannia overpowers Japan and conquers it using new found robotic technology called Knightmares (Basically mechs like in every other series). Japan is renamed "Area 11" and becomes a colony of the Britannia. The current emperor of Britannia is/was the Charles Di Britannia, married to Marianne Vi Britannia. The family has 9 (known to us) childern, two of which are Lelouch vi Britannia and Nunnally vi Britannia. One dark night, Marianne Vi Britannia was assassinated by an unknown assassin. His sister was shot in the legs, destroying her ablitity to walk and the shock of the muder blinded her as well (She was very young at this time). Lelouch, outraged by the entire night's events (was a young boy at the time), found out his father didn't do a thing to prevent the assassination. Due to that, he revoked his rights to the throne and took his sister to live with a japanese noble family.
2017 A.T.B = Lelouch is now 17 and attending Ashford school under the false name of Lelouch Lamperouge. One day coming home from a trip to play chess with a noble man (for cash of course), he witnesses a failed terrorist attempt to steal what was labelled "posion gas". When Lelouch attempted to see the accident, a girl with green hair walked out of the "posion gas" tank. At that point, Imperial guards enter the building, ready to kill both lelouch and the girl. At that point, the girl asked lelouch if he wanted a power to fight back, and in an instant Lelouch said yes. The girl, latered to be revealed as "CC", give him the power of Geass. This ability is normally located in the user's eye (So far that has been the case), and gives the user a special ability. Lelouch has the ability to give any person, any order and they must do it (later it is revealed he can only give 1 order per person, then the geass doesn't work anymore on that person). Lelouch quickly uses this ability and hijacks an emperial Knightmare. He then uses it to comand the terrorist squad to victory against the emperial forces, like a chess game. Later, he puts the false identy of "Zero" and allys himself with the terrorists, to find the truth behind his mother's death, create a save world for his sister, and to defeat the Holy Empire of Britannia.
