O_o What?! That's the first time im hearin of this. The guitar store i go to allow's me to bealt out whatever i want whenever i want lol, But then again i do live in Australia. I dunno maybe it depends where you live and if it's true then there has to be a stupid law that enforce's it imo

Here are some packs.
If money isn't really the problem and you think you wont quit playing soon i'd suggest to buy the Laguna ultimate rock pack.. Its the best rated beginners set around, and the amp is very good (others will suck, be prepared, lol). and its a very complete package. Behringer and Squier should do it too.

I'm a big fan of Gibson Les Pauls now.

I play electric guitar. It's only a damn cheap Cort (I think) but it plays pretty well, so i'm satissfied with it.
But i'm planning to get me a cyan FU signature ( a semi- hollow body).

Use programs like Power tab or Guitar pro (costs money but torrents work as well) so you can listen it and get the hang of rithems and solos much faster

What i did hear is sometimes when people really suck they kick them out of the testrooms..

I like the Epiphones better. They are smaller and faster. And Gibson is so freekin expenseive i can't buy it anyways. D: it's topquality though.

Even without teachers around you can learn to play some cool stuff all by yourself, programs like powertab help alot, i learned about 4-5 really great songs in just a half year,(one of them was "Enter Sandman" by Metallica), and some books helped me too.
And the most important part is to have fun playing. I myself want to play on my guitar everytime I walk past it.
