Okay, is it possible?
A few days ago, I was haxzord and the guy who hacked me, stol'd my email and was using it. I made a new email and added my keylogged one and had a go at the guy and he just says my house address to me and threatens to post it on the net. I don't mind because anyone who comes here gets bashed so I'm not stressed. I'm just wondering how the hell he got it. I tend to be pretty private about my real life on the net and there's only about 3 people on the net that know my house address (Possesd being one) and all of them are very trust-worthy and I very much doubt they told this dude my address. So, is it possible to get someone's address though an IP trance?

i'm pretty sure you can. especially sucks if you have a static IP. (non changing IP for those who dont know) dude that's seriously fu'ckin sucks. you really have no luck with computers.
wait is it someone on these forums? and you're right. it doesn't really matter if he knows your address. not many ppl are gonna wanna go find you and kill you unless your a douche, which you are not. though i can understand why your stressed. if he can hack into your IP and your email, i hope you dont shop online.

Nope it isn't anyone from these forum's lol Andy LE really doesn't have any luck with his email account's LOL but the thing is LE is really hated on some other forum's cause 1) they are jealous of his GFX/Music work 2) They just have nothing better to do then abuse other people (Although it hardly seem's to affect him since he usually rip's those people a new as$hole)
But yea it does suck that he got haciked and all and if the guy that hacked him is smart enough he will stay away from the area LE live's in lol otherwise he will get smashed by the local's xD

Tell the guy to **** off and stop the bull****.
Not even a pro can get it anywhere past the internet provider, which is some what near your home, but in no case can they pin-point it. If they had someone who worked at the company that provided your internet, thats another story, but I highly doubt that is the case.

Although if your E-mails have your Address listed on them from any you had in your messages or messages sent between the hack and threat, then they don't even need to do an IP trace. But really, it just comes down to the f-face possibly screwing around trying to get the recovery question(s) answer(s) correct.
But really, you could, if you felt the need to, try to regain control of the e-mail address that got hacked somehow. Depending on who hosts your e-mail, you can see a history of what IPs accessed your email account and then send it to proper athorities to prosecute the person in question. Though that is a lengthy and troublesome route. However, you're better off asking or looking up in some sort of tech site or magazine about the specifics. Depending like Alex said, if you bought anything via that email online, contact and finacial info can be abused, and you should probably put a watch on credit sources or fraud reports to make sure purchases and accounts aren't made through info gained by the hack. So make sure on that. I don't know what else really to do other than that, since I don't have family members or close firends who dealt with it before.

@ Cap'n: Nah dude, I don't shop online or anything like that.
@ Pat: This is the first time I've been keylogged. With my last e-mail, I just forgot the pass and thought it was keylogged because I'm a retard. And they did it for my furniture on Habbo. You'd have to be extremely idiotic to keylog/hack someone just because they're better at GFX or Music Production. @ Most: I thought so but I just wanted to make sure. If you were able to obtain someone's address from your IP, your ISP would be liable but considering some of the stuff I've seen done to people, I wasn't 100% sure. @ Ahd: I'm sure I didn't send any e-mails with my account listed on them and the address I put on the sign up form for my email was fake. Just makes me more certain that it is someone I know. I tried to get back into the email but even I have forgotten the secret question so, I'm screwed in that sense. I got all my old contacts back so it's no real bother anyways. Thanks for the help guys, it's muchly appreciated.

Ahdharr did bring up a good point. I was only talking from having access to the account, I didn't consider if you put personal information in it, cause that could be legit. That is why you always have a separate email for personal information.

The only way a hacker can get in your computer is if: -
- You don't have Spyware protection on your computer. - You download something and it was a virus. - Someone you know got on your computer and got in your account. I think those are the easiest ways you can get hacked.
